First Time in the USA

After six successful past events, The World Choir Games will be held in America for the first time. The Games are touted as an "Olympic of choral music.." They present a unique opportunity for choirs of all sizes, cultures and musical styles to come together in friendly competition. The promoters estimate that 20,000 singers from around the world will participate in the 2012 Games.

The Games begin July 4, 2012.

When choral groups from around the world converge on Cincinnati, Ohio next summer they will perform in colorful costumes native to their countries. They will participate in a full schedule of events at entertainment venues throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. While many of the events require a ticket purchase, there will also be a number of street events free to the public.

Choir Music? It's Not What You Think

Choirs offer far more entertainment variety than you might imagine. The world class Games competition will include performances in a total of 23 categories. They will perform Barbershop, Show, Gospel, Jazz, Popular and many more varieties.

Games registration is currently open. The list of registered choirs is growing and so far includes 239 registered* choirs from 39 countries.

The Choirs are Coming to Cincinnati, Ohio

Six previous World Choir Games competitions were held in People's Republic of Korea, Germany, and twice in Austria and China. When the 11 day event makes it's American debut, it will bring over 400 choirs and 20,000 international competitors to Cincinnati, Ohio. The tens of thousands of expected visitors will have an estimated 73.5 million dollar impact on the local economy.
